Lifeline Nehemiah Projects (LNP) founded in the 1990s by the late Rev. Richard Cole, whose compassion for disadvantaged children in his community sparked a transformative movement. His vision provided family support, education, and hope to hundreds of vulnerable children many of whom have gone on to become educators, clergy, business leaders, police officers, lawyers, and more.
Today, approximately 30% of LNP’s management team is made up of young people who once benefited from its programs a testament to the long-term impact of the organisation. Individuals once perceived as societal threats are now contributing as nation builders.
LNP’s work has expanded significantly over the years, now encompassing a wide range of sectors including education (from nursery to senior secondary school and technical/vocational training institute), agriculture, women and girls’ empowerment, health, and livelihood development. Through these initiatives, LNP continues to invest in individuals, families, and communities across Sierra Leone.
To date, more than 12,800 marginalized women, youth, and adults have directly benefited from LNP’s interventions. Their lives have been meaningfully transformed through targeted support and sustainable development programs.
Rebuilding a nation requires the right mindset and intentional investment, principles that continue to guide Lifeline Nehemiah Projects on its impactful journey of change.
Our mission
Although the foundations of our work were laid over 30 years ago by Richard and Yeakah Cole, we remain committed to the same vision and values that inspired them. Our mission is to support orphaned children, and disadvantaged young adults, women, and girls in Sierra Leone to thrive within safe families and communities, access quality education, and contribute meaningfully to society. In partnership with Lifeline Network International (LNI), and the government of Sierra Leone we address the challenges of poverty by equipping individuals, families, and communities for sustainable development. We empower people to become self-reliant through practical initiatives, including social enterprise, sustainable farming, integrated education, Technical vocational Skills and life skills training, business development, and maternal support for young women.
