Through the PAPAYA/CRADLE SMART health interventions, in partnership with the Welbodi Partnership, Lifeline brought together health professionals, Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) and hub members to discuss the current barriers affecting access to effective healthcare delivery for pregnant women.
The sessions were very insightful, with the TBAs openly shared their concerns, challenges and experiences, while the health professionals provided guidance and encouragement, especially encouraging the TBAs to feel free to take their clients – the pregnant women and girls – to the hospital or community health centre seeking collaboration with the nurses, and supporting the women and girls towards safe delivery, and so fostering collaboration toward improving maternal healthcare outcomes.
Additionally the 2YoungLives initiative, as part of the CRIBS programme funded by King’s College London, participated in the Policy Lab and the CRADLE SMART launch held during the period March 13th-17th.
