On behalf of the Lifeline leadership, this provides a brief update regarding ongoing legal matters.
Mohamed Turay and Prince T. Williams both continue to attend Magistrate Court proceedings related to the personal, unfounded charges laid against them and, to date, Prince T. Williams has appeared in court over 12 times, Mohamed Turay over 6 times, however, we remain hopeful that justice will finally prevail and the cases will be thrown out of court.
Regarding the High Court matter, in which Lifeline Nehemiah Projects is the complainant, we are still currently awaiting a new hearing date but, in the meantime, we are grateful for the growing national and international attention being given to these matters, and for the support received from individuals and organisations advocating for justice and human rights.
On behalf of the Board, leadership, staff, beneficiaries and volunteers of Lifeline Nehemiah Projects we extend our heartfelt gratitude to:
- Almighty God for His continued guidance and protection
- our friends and supporters in the United Kingdom, particularly the Lifeline UK church leadership and congregation.
- the UN Special Rapporteur and other international advocates
- our friends, family members and supporters in Sierra Leone and abroad
- our dedicated legal team for their unwavering commitment to justice
- Front Line Defenders
- Open Briefing
- the OHCHR West Africa Regional Office (WARO)
- the Security Risk Management (SRM)
Your support, encouragement and solidarity have strengthened us during difficult times – we thank you most sincerely for standing with us.
