The Lifeline Betteh Tumara (BT) management team is currently conducting their recruitment program for the 2026/2027 cohort, whilst at the same time the majority of the 2025/2026 cohort students are in the process of completing their internships and preparing for graduation.
Going forward, and in recognising the financial challenges faced by many young people, the LNP leadership team has decided to provide partial and full scholarships to disadvantaged students, using funds donated to by LifeLine UK.
This financial support will enable more disadvantaged young people to access the BT vocational training program this academic year, increasing their opportunities, gaining valuable skills and building hope for a better future.
From his visit to LNP in 2025, as part of a team of supporters from LifeLine UK, and as a result of spending time in the ITC suite, our friend, Steve Adams, quickly observed how most of the available computer equipment was reliant on a stable power supply – somewhat of a luxury in Sierra Leone – and was witness to how the loss of power, coupled with power surges, often greatly reduced teaching time, even time lost waiting for the LNP compound’s generator to be activated.
After discussing this situation with the teachers and how it affects the trainees, together with catching a sense of the vision Prince Tommy Williams, CEO of LNP, has for establishing a potential income stream by opening an internet café where local community people can gain access to the benefits of modern technology, Steve returned to the UK on a mission to make a difference!
Back home in the UK, he got to work and, although it took time to get the necessary approval for the fifteen machines to be securely donated, they were shipped out and delivered at the end of August.
The LNP and Betteh Tumara leadership teams are extremely appreciative for the effort Steve put in to making this happen and, together with him would take this opportunity to extend our grateful thanks to the various managers of Penguin Random House Technology who were involved in enabling this capacity-building initiative to happen.
