LIFELINE BETTEH TUMARA TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL TRAINING INSTITUTE: Investing in Young People

The management of the Lifeline Betteh Tumara Technical Vocational Institute (BT) has now commenced classroom learning activities for the current academic period.

At the same time, preparations are underway for the graduation ceremony of the 2026 cohort, an important milestone for everyone involved – the trainees, instructors, management, and the wider Lifeline community.

The graduation will provide an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of students who have successfully completed their respective training programs and to recognise the importance of technical and vocational education in equipping young people with practical skills for employment, entrepreneurship and self-reliance.

Scholarship Application & Selection Process

In recent weeks, the BT management team issued a public notice inviting interested young people to apply for full or partial scholarships under its educational support programme and, between October 1st and 16th, the team received applications from more than 200 interested candidates – highlighting both the constraints the current, extreme financial and economic challenges families are facing, and the demand for educational support within the communities Lifeline serves.

A scholarship review committee has been established to assess the applicants and is currently examining the submissions with a view to developing clear recommendations for approval, based on the various applicants’ needs and their eligibility, to enable the BT and schools’ management teams to reach suitable, considered final selection decisions – and more related details will be communicated in due course.
